Texas ‘Bathroom Bills’: Protesters Flood Statehouse Against Bills

Senate Bill 3 is aimed at banning transgender people from using restrooms that match their gender identity in schools and other state-owned buildings in Texas. Already, Texas has lost $66 million in revenue from cancelled conventions. Leading business groups like the Texas Association of Businesses project $5.6 billion is on the line if a “bathroom bill” passes.

At its core, Senate Bill 3 only exists for the sole purpose of demonizing and stigmatizing transgender Texans, says Equality Texas CEO Chuck Smith.
