The New Year gives us the opportunity to look at where we’ve been and commit to where we want to go. Through the tumultuous events of this year, we have found courage in the leaders of the transgender community, friendship in the incredible number of allies standing with us, resolve in the faces of LGBTQ youth demanding their equality, and hope in the legislators and businesses advocating for our rights. Together, we can ensure that all LGBTQ Texans and their families have full equality in the hearts and minds of our fellow Texans.
