The Next Generation of Leaders

The Equality Leaders Program (formerly called Equality Fellows) is a Leadership Development program aimed at providing individuals with the skills, education, and tools necessary to be active and engaged community members in the fight for LGBTQIA+ rights. Participants will build confidence, learning how to channel their individual power as an advocate, as well as work collaboratively to build collective power with their cohort.

The six-month Equality Leaders program is divided into a variety of training modules including:

  • What Is Civic Engagement?

  • Lege 101 & 201

  • The Life of a Bill in Texas

  • Preparing for Testimony

  • Lobby Visits

  • The Power of Storytelling

  • How to Pivot

"If you are wanting to get involved and you are passionate about getting involved and making a change and you want to be a mentor to LGBTQ youth and it all just seems kind of overwhelming—this program is excellent to give you the sort of 101 and even beyond that to get involved as an activist and a mentor."
