Let Your Voice be Heard: Family Advocacy Day – March 23

Family Advocacy DayAfter a successful day of advocating for policies and laws that are inclusive of lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender Texans based on faith values, Equality Texas now sets its sights on advocating on behalf of Texas families. Family Advocacy Day—set for Monday, March 23—is an opportunity for you to meet face-to-face with legislators and talk to them about how your family and the families of the people you care about are affected by discrimination in Texas.

We believe all Texas families deserve respect, protection, and the chance to flourish. That’s why we need to share with Texas legislators why we believe it’s important to end bias against sexual orientation and gender identity or expression that leads to laws that are harmful to our families.

Equality Texas will be partnering with The Handsome Father—a national organization supporting, connecting, equipping, and inspiring gay fathers and fathers-to-be—and other LGBT family-supportive groups across the state. If your organization would like to be a part of this important opportunity, contact Drew Martineau, Legislative Fellow with Equality Texas.

Advance registration is required so that we can prepare materials, lunch, and assignments. The deadline to register is Tuesday, March 17.

Please join us in Austin to ask state leaders to pass inclusive policies that protect all children, end discrimination, and strengthen relationships.

Help us fight for a better Texas for all Texans!

All of the work we do would not be possible without the support of our community and allies.
