Lou Weaver – Testimony Opposing SB6

On Tuesday, March 7th and stretching into the early morning of Wednesday, March 8th, hundreds of Texans filled the Texas Capitol to testify in opposition to Senate Bill 6, a piece of discriminatory legislation designed to exclude transgender, gender-nonconforming and nonbinary Texans from participation in public settings. This discriminatory “bathroom bill” would deny members of the community the right to use the restroom that corresponds to their gender identity and would place them in situations that would jeopardize their physical, psychological and emotional well-being.

Please watch the testimony of Equality Texas’ Transgender Programs Coordinator, Lou Weaver:

Do not be discouraged by the actions of the Texas Senate. This fight is not over!

Send a message to your State Senator right now and tell them that transgender Texans are real and they matter. Tell them to vote “NO” on SB6.

Help us fight for a better Texas for all Texans!

All of the work we do would not be possible without the support of our community and allies.

Thanks!
