Pride has always been about community.
While rainbow flags and celebrations fill the month of June, the true spirit of Pride is people coming together to support one another and invest in a future where every LGBTQIA+ Texan can thrive. This year, through Pride with Purpose, we saw exactly what that looks like.
Across Texas, businesses of every size stepped up in extraordinary ways and became Partners in Pride. Some hosted fundraising events. Others donated a portion of their sales throughout Pride Month. Many contributed products, experiences, and services that helped us engage supporters and raise critical funds. Together, they demonstrated that supporting equality isn’t just the right thing to do, it’s also good for Texas.
The business case for equality has never been clearer. Businesses want to attract talented employees, retain customers, and build thriving communities where everyone feels welcome. When LGBTQIA+ Texans can live openly and safely, our economy, workforce, and local communities are stronger. That’s why Equality Texas works alongside employers, business leaders, and advocates to ensure Texas remains a place where everyone has the opportunity to succeed.
But creating that future isn’t the responsibility of any one person or organization.
It takes individuals making monthly gifts. It takes community groups organizing events. It takes foundations investing in long-term change. It takes corporate partners lending their voices. And it takes local businesses—the coffee shops, bookstores, breweries, restaurants, retailers, and entrepreneurs who make our neighborhoods special—choosing to stand alongside the LGBTQIA+ community.
