Our beloved friend Kristen Michele Capps passed away on May 19, 2017. She was 49. Her heartfelt obituary says she was surrounded by her loving family. Kristen is survived by countless family and friends.
Kristen was a tremendous advocate and even better person, and her perseverance for fairness and equality was an inspiration to us all. Our thoughts and prayers are with Kristen’s family.
Kristen’s friends and family said she was always available for advice or comfort, and never said no to a person (or animal) in need of a home. She was a devoted mother and spouse, an incredible wit, a source of wisdom and an inspiration. The State, the City, and her colleagues, friends, and family will sorely miss her fire, her passion, and her love.
